Congratulations to our 2018 Chili Cook-off Winners

It was another warm June day, but the nine Chili Chefs and the hundreds of chili fans journeyed to downtown Rough and Ready to enjoy the fare.

When it was over, David Chase and Rob McDonald of The California Red Team, from Wilton, not only claimed the crown and the $500 first prize, but the $250 People's Choice award as well...FOR THE 2ND TIME IN A ROW...repeating their wins from 2017! The People's Choice Award was again graciously provided by the Animal Clinic of Penn Valley!

Brenda Downing of Grass Valley, a first time entrant with her Who Let The Dogs Out Chili Verde, tied for 2nd Place with Larry Balsley's Jack Daniels #1, and they split the $250 Prize.

Thank you to all the Chili Cookers who prepared their favorite chili...Lynn Coppock's Fatty's Chili, Monte Downing's Mondog's Fire Roasted Red Chili, Chris and Rick Kahils's Firey Old Fart's Chili, Betty Libby's Jack Daniels #2, David (Huggy Bear) Warhoff's American Legion Riders Chili,  Gene Robert, Dixie Lacey and Charlene Turner's Granny's Awesome Chili   Thanks and Congratulations to all!

Thanks also to the volunteers, vendors, musicians, judges and especially the men and women of our Volunteer Fire Dept for preparing a delicious breakfast and for the Bounce House and Water Slide that kept the kids entertained for hours!
